This afternoon, Equamore Sanctuary hosted a Christmas at the Barn party with stable tours, stories about the horses, and hot chocolate, cider, and other goodies, creating a wonderful opportunity for the community to learn more about Equamore.

It was a beautiful, sunny (if chilly) afternoon, and all visitors arriving at the barn were first greeted by Magic, below.

After saying hello to Magic, visitors walked through the barn, where Equamore board members, staff, and volunteers were on hand to introduce everyone to the horses and answer questions. The horses’ stalls were festively decorated—this is Topaz’s stall here:

And the bulletin board, festooned with holiday decorations, highlighted some of Equamore’s press and rescue stories.

Wishes (one of the sanctuary’s new arrivals) was very popular today … she was surrounded by visitors all day. Wishes, who is nearly blind, loves affection, and there is something very peaceful about her, which may be what draws people straight toward her. She was so busy with her fans today, it was hard to squeeze in to say hello!

Equamore now provides sanctuary for forty-seven horses, and your support helps contribute to their food, shelter, veterinary care, and more. Click here to make a donation, and if you’ve fallen in love with an individual horse, click here to find his or her page, learn more about his/her rescue, and make a donation that supports this individual’s life at the sanctuary.

Thanks to all who came out today to meet the horses and to show them how much they’re loved!
