Snoopy was the first official Equamore horse! After an accident severing a nerve in his neck, his owner was unable to afford treatment and rehabilitation and he was scheduled for euthanasia. Equamore’s executive director intervened and Snoopy subsequently became the first Equamore horse when it was founded in 1991. Years after his injury, Snoopy became a wonderful school horse, carrying many riders in training and beyond to the dressage arena. One of his last students was Nancy Ash, who later became Equamore’s board president.

Even though Snoopy (his registered name is Bold Ruler) is now well into his thirties and long retired, he still maintains a beautiful sculpted mane and his lovely Arab conformation. Snoopy is usually found apart from the other horses in the field since the death of his best friend Taz. Yet, he loves his special feeds and grooming sessions! Not only does he find his own way to his stall from the pasture without guidance each afternoon for dinner, he continues to show amazing escape artist talent by opening his stall door and wandering to the lawn for a bite of green grass. Snoopy is sweet and loving and has been a wonderful ambassador for Equamore since its inception. Thank you, Snoopy!
