Update on Bryant

January 28, 2013 Bryant has made so much progress since he got his special shoes.  Other than of course being more comfortable and energetic, Bryant is starting to interact with other horses.  He joined in Buckley’s favorite game of nip and scream, and raced around the arena in a game of chase with Pete, Mowen and Josey.  Perhaps Bryant has stayed to himself all this time because he didn’t feel sound enough for horse play with the guys.  Perhaps he…

Happy Anniversary to Sara

It was a treat to be at Equamore last week for this very special event: the one-year anniversary of Sara and her “person,” Equamore board vice-president Ruth Kennedy. Being a “person” to Sara means walking, grooming, and visiting her — as well as proffering treats (Sara and Ruth share an apple at the end of nearly every day). After Sara was rescued from severe neglect by Equamore back in 2008, she was placed twice in adopted homes and twice returned. In February of 2010, the sanctuary became her…
