Colleen Dumont rescued Destiny, a Thoroughbred mare, whose owners had scheduled to put her down saying they “didn’t want her” any more. According to her owners, the mare was sound enough for the grandkids to ride. She was thin and in need of basic hoof and dental care, but otherwise seemed sound when brought to the Sanctuary. Examination revealed a wound on one front hoof that occasionally causes Destiny to lose her balance and she has arthritis in both knees, making her unfit to ride.
With her support fully sponsored, Destiny will live out the rest of her life in the care of the Foundation.
