Be ONE in a Thousand

Using technology to help the Equamore Foundation.

We want you to talk “for the love of horses.”

We know from research that many people would like to help the Equamore Foundation but find it difficult, in these trying economic times, to come up with extra money at the end of the month to do so. The Foundation Board of Directors has found what we think is a way that may save you money on your phone, television, and internet access bills, and benefit Equamore at the same time.

Equamore’s newest business partner, ACN, the world’s largest telecommunications service provider, has developed a simple survey to determine if signing up for essential services through ACN can save you money over what you currently pay.  If you decide to sign up, you will automatically become one of the Thousand Friends of Equamore, and a percentage of your monthly cost for the essential services you contract for will go toward the care of the horses of Equamore.

If you would like more information about this program, please click on the email link at the bottom of this message or call us at (541) 482-5550.  To see the many services available through Equamore and ACN, click the icon below.

THE CENTIPEDE THEORY

The game is tug of war. The task of the freshman class is to beat the senior class team consisting of ten beefy football players, each one almost twice as big and twice as strong as even the biggest and strongest ninth-grader.

They have only two things going for them: the rules that impose a weight limit on each team and the Centipede Theory. Every centipede and this freshman class know that it’s a matter of foot power and that forty feet are always  better than twenty.

So enter the freshman team consisting of  twenty of the smallest members of the class, totaling 2000 pounds and forty feet. The ten two-hundred-pound seniors haven’t realized it, but they don’t stand a chance. They’re pulled off their twenty feet in less than five minutes.

Score ONE for the centipedes!

MONTHLY MEMBERSHIPS

The Equamore Foundation competes in its own tug of war, where large and small charities vie for donors. Our theory is that a thousand small contributors can give as much, even more, that a hundred donors with larger bank accounts. Again, it is

numbers and not size that count.

That’s why we’ve created the Thousand Friends of Equamore  program. A monthly subscription of just $12 per month makes you one of the many legs that support the 33 horses depending on Equamore for food and care. Just 40¢ a day keeps Bryant, and Shorty, Snoopy and Cosmo, Taz and Buckly in their pastures at our Equine Sanctuary.

Volunteers do the rest:  giving them the love and security they need to overcome the horror of neglect and starvation they suffered before becoming Equamore horses.

Score ONE more for the centipedes!

CONTRIBUTIONS

And don’t forget the many events sponsored by the Foundation. We’re marching right along with our annual fundraiser, the Black Beauty Banquet, to pay for other expenses: vet bills, special feeds, and hoof trimming, to name a few. Your attendance and contributions are most welcome.

We also need sponsors for special training sessions, like the Large Animal Rescue clinics we’ve held over the last three years for rescue workers who must deal with accidents that may involve  frightened and injured dogs, goats, pigs, horses, cattle, and even an occasional elephant.

Of course, one-time contributions are most welcome. The more feet on the ground pulling for Equamore, the more likely we are to win our own tug of war.

It’s centipedes all the way down!
